That's interesting to know as I'd never heard of it. I often wonder if my boss knows about it and possibly me being on it as her husband is a financial guy working in some big wig company and surely he must know? x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
The thing is I just think even if people spot your name on there that know you, surely they would be far too embarrassed to actually say anything to you about it? If I wasn't in an IVA and spotted someone I knew on there I wouldn't dream of saying anything to them as I'd be too worried they'd (quite rightly) snap and tell me it's none of my business!
This is an absolute disgrace, and I can only assume that they have found your details on the insolvency register. The need for the register to be available publicly is so that people who need to know about someone's credit background can find out information that people who need to know can find out. In your case, I cannot possibly see that this meddlesome whilstleblower needed to access your personal details.
In the New Year, when I have more time on my hands, I intend to tackle this matter through the two trade bodies I sit as a board director directly with the Minister for Consumer Affairs. She is a lady who has the interests of the consumer at heart, and I think she will be shocked that this information is so accessible. I have others in the profession and in the wider sphere who can help - and I will be looking for support from forum members and Andy Davie to put some weight behind this.
If Roy could contact me directly, and is happy for his experience to be used as an example of why this forum needs to be off the internet, I would be happy to hear from him.
Thank you guys - I'm going to ask Andy in the New Year if we can conduct a research poll on the forum to get a cross-section of views as to how debtors really feel they are being treated post-IVA at the moment. It will be useful data to tackle the Insolvency Service with -as the marketplace has changed a lot since this was looked at earlier.
