Well i know i said i wasnt going to tell my new partner that i was in an IVA but last night i had the perfect opportunity, we was on about his friend never being able to go or anything because he is in debt, not with creditors but with family and friends, just borrowing money then having to pay all his wages out as soon as he gets it and then he's in the same boat again, anyway i thought heres my chance, I brought it up by saying I know how he feels never having any money, i'm so glad ive sorted mine out, he asked, have you got a big loan or something, (he knew i had debt) I said no it's called and IVA and explained how it worked and he's so good with money he has never heard of an IVA and he said so have you gone bankrupt then!! bless him
He was lovley about it and said he would pay the monthly payments and pay a lump sum off my debts, I explained that it's not like that and theyve made my payments affordable to me, he just didnt understand it but it's out in the open now and i do feel soooooo much better!! It's made me realise just how much he does care, he also said leave any holidays or nights out to him, he said we are in this together, if he cant help me pay it off then he will treat me in other ways.
Thanks everyone, I did want to tell him but didnt know how to bring it up and he made it easy for me by opening the conversation, I felt closer to him last night knowing we havnt got a big secret between us!
