IVA proposal due to be submitted any day (was just waiting to go through it with Melanie), and my partner has been credit crunched and lost her job as a result of cutbacks at her place of work. I can't believe this has happened just before Xmas and I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach I feel SO frustrated that I finally was getting myself sorted and now this has happened and thrown all the income/expenditure calculation into disarray, to say nothing of leaving my partner with no income just before Xmas. Cant wait for Xmas day thats gonna be fun.......[:(]

So sorry UpToMyNeck. That is rotten news. I am sure Melanie will be able to help you find a solution. Depending on what your partner does for a living, and your joint circumstances, it may be possible to amend the proposals to state what has happened and provide for the payments to your IVA to start when she has found another job.

I hope you have spoken to Melanie already. If not get on the phone and speak to her - you need all the reasurance you can get before Christmas day.
Kind regards, Elizabeth Pywowarczuk, Insolvency Practitioner.

If you would like me to advise you about an IVA and if appropriate propose one for you, please visit my website at www.liberta.uk.com

I am aware of this and will be contacting you when my voice returns as I am off work with a nasty cold - and am for once speechless!

There is no point in kneejerking into doing anything until we see what happens with your partner and employment, and that is unlikely to be resolved until the New Year. I agree that this is extremely rotton luck to happen at any time of the year, but problems like this are usually resolved and you should not let it spoil your enjoyment of a peaceful time at home together. I am sure that she will find another job soon.

Take care.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Thanks Melanie. I am sure she will find something soon as she is trying very hard to and she has a lot of experience in her field. I was just worried that this would throw the whole IVA proposal out of the window and being so close to the proposal being submitted I felt like the rug had suddenly been pulled out from under my feet, and I want more than anything to get the thing submitted even if means having a provision in there for the payments to start as soon as she gets a job, or at a reduced level before then to be increased later. Anyway, I'm waffling now, get well soon, and I look forward to speaking to you soon to discuss what can be done to resolve things. Many thanks to Liberta and Viki too for your kind comments.

So sorry to see this post. What an awful time for this to happen. Be positive, though difficult to be I am sure, and hopefully she will find some work after xmas.

Hi Melanie, I notice you are posting on here today. Can you give me an idea of when you might be calling me to discuss this and my proposal - it was scheduled for last week but cancelled due to you being ill.

Before lunchtime - but can we please not use the forum for two way correspondence about your case, or else I will get my wrists slapped by the Administrators.
