Car finance - I completed my IVA 6 moths ago and my car is knackered and so I need to replace it. I am worried about getting stung by a cowboy outfit simply because I have a bad credit history with the IVA, what companies would anyone recommend?

Your IVA will probably still be on your record if you completed within five years - try MoneyBarn - they have helped out some posters but the APR is quite high.

Thanks for the response. I have seen a lot of people mention them, but they only lend from £4K, I don't to borrow that much just yet.

I got my car finance with Moneybarn via Midland Credit as, still being in an IVA at the time with 4 payments left, Moneybarn were to only lenders willing to lend.

I don't know if that is the case once you have your CC but the IVA still on your credit file or not. Maybe worth having a word with Midland Credit to see if they know or any lender in that situation.

Good luck

Thanks for that ST1100, I will get in touch with Midland Credit and see what they have to say.

Hi Andy - has the 6 year anniversary passed since your IVA started? You might want to try tidying up your credit rating a little first.

You might find this quick video I made useful:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:

Best of luck

I don't know whereabouts you are but there is a firm called Blue Arrow Cars who reckon 95% acceptance - no credit check and CCJ's etc accepted.

No idea on the APR though.
