I've had problems with my back on and off for years and over the last couple of days it's been quite bad. I need to see an osteopath, but obviously I would have to pay for it.
Dave would lend me the money, but I'd have to pay him back sooner rather than later. I phoned Clarke Willmott to see if I could have a payment break of one month from my IPA, but they cannot agree this without seeing proof that I've been to the osteopath!
I really don't know what to do - I'm worried about borrowing the money and going and then being told I can't have the payment break.
They said they would consider it, which isn't much good to me if I owe Dave a fortune!
Dave has said he'll lend me the money for the first appointment so I'm going tonight. I'll see what the osteopath says and if I've got to go back I'll send the proof off to CW and see what they say. At least I'll only owe Bank of Dave £30 until the next appointment!
Skippy - I am absolutely certain that CW will allow this - and at the end of the day if you miss one payment it is hardly the end of the world as you can make it back up at the end. Get that back sorted - it has to last for the rest of yoru life and is far more important. I can speak to CW for you, as I know the guys down there if you run into trouble.
I'm so sorry Mrs Skint. Your problems really put mine into perspective. I know what a horrible illness MS is from my dad having it. All I can do is send you a big hug and hope you feel better soon - you're so brave xxxxx
Trust me im not brave, it scares the sh** out of me sometimes but im very experienced at not showing it.
I cry alone and smile in company. I dont often let the kids know im in pain, that way they dont worry.
Is it not worth seeing if your GP will refer you to the Osteopath on the national health - or have you already tried that?
Like Melanie I feel that it is important to get your back sorted out and if you have to take the payment break to do so then you should. If all else fails ask to speak to your IP directly.
Kind regards, Elizabeth Pywowarczuk, Insolvency Practitioner.
If you would like me to advise you about an IVA and if appropriate propose one for you, please visit my website at www.liberta.uk.com
Unfortunately the GP's I have seen have the attitude of oh it'll get better on it's own! My doctor's surgery has it's own website and it actually recommends seeing an osteopath rather than going to a GP about back problems.
I'm not in an IVA - I went BR last year and I'm paying into an IPA. Hopefully I won't have too many problems getting the payment reduced if necessary. Clarke Willmott are generally very nice and very efficient.
The stupid thing is 99% of the time my back is ok which is why I haven't really pushed the doctors - I don't want to be pulled around when it's not hurting!
Hi Skip, my advice is just go to the osteopath, they will be able to tell you what the problem is. The you can take it from there. I doubt if you would get a referral from the doctors anyway.
Mrs S, you are a fantastic person, it brought a tear to my eye, what you just said.
