Please CS could you elaborate i meant no harm and very confused you have all been great and i have finally see there may be a way through last thing i wanted to do is offend I would like to delete edit the relevant post i sincerely apologise my friend
Always best in my opinion to air grievances on posts. Sometimes they just need further explanation or clarification and now a poster is fretting.
Personally - I like to know so I can either expand or apologise - sometimes my replies are done when I have taken medication and my fingers seem to type things without my brain telling them to!!
Ox you replied to my post saying finally someone who understands. Im not sure what CS found disrespectful but thats the post that was quoted.
Theres no harm done Ox. Its good to hear you sounding more positive than you were this morning. Honestly this will get resolved and im sure once youve spent a bit of time researching a IP who can act for you and you know what to do given your circumstances you will be extremely relieved. Hope you can sleep better tonight knowing you have found this forum and finally getting some assistance with your debts.
AHH what i meant by that is you are in a similar position and actually I have been getting alot of flack from some people on another board that think I am looking for sympathy and that I am wallowing in self pity. They have sometimes felt like they are really having a go at me
i came on here to get a second opinion and was instantly helped alot by Paul and then the rest of you and have seen i do have options. I referred to someone in relation to your post but actually it applies to all of you who have posted.
It all has helped and subject to finalising a few issue I think i know which way to go

Ox. I am so glad that you are getting to grips with this --- it is a steep learning curve, but just take it one step at a time. We have all been there and are happy to help ( even if we might give you a swift kick in the rear end now and again )
This other forum .... wasn't one once owned by martin was it ?
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Thats excellent Ox. You sound much more in control and calmer than you did earlier (if you get what i mean!) There are individual issues relevant to own situations which is why importsnt to get all info together before rushing into something. Spend the time now getting figures right snd choosing who to act for you. This forum has been a godsend as you will alwayd find someone who is in same/similar situation as yourself. Theres no judgement. I have told only a very close friend and my sister who has had bad debts do know she'll understsnd but apart from my hubby no one knows so this is a lifeline.
Woke up this morning concerned about what is best to do.... I don't want to go BR but am concerned it is inevitable. Main concern is will IVA affect my job and future jobs as I need to stay at same level to pay everything on one salary. Also the car issue as well.......we would lose the house in BR as I could not work then
Was a bit more positive last night but now terrified again should i just stay on a DMP ticking over to get it paid down if they stop interest
Morning Ox. Why do you feel Bar is inevitable?? Surely that will impact on career and family more than a iva/dmp would?? Kelly put a link on an earlier post and said that recently had another cima client enter iva so chances are there are other options to deal with debt besides BR. DMP scared me as creditors can do what they like and coukd think getting somewhere then find out got to pay the tears of interest they didnt freeze. You need to speak to the experts and go through your own individual case with them to get a clear idea of options and impact each will have.
Well I am sure that my career can be saved by an iVA, however the concern is future jobs. I am at a senior level and at present it is tight on the normal bills as I have had to take a paycut but still need to stay at this level
The only thing stopping me really doing the IVA route is uncertainty over the job front
But the alternative is ....... will it be any better for your career prospects?
All debt solutions have their pros and cons, the experts should be able to help you make the right decision...for me the IVA would win hands down ...anything to avoid bankruptcy. But equally bankruptcy has its advantages and is right for some people.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
No BR will not what I am worried about is doing the IVA, then not being able to get the right job or any job then wont be able to pay mortgage and have to go BR anyway. I know i am probably going round in circles but thats how i feel at the moment.
Worried what will happen if I go BR and lose the house where will we live and how will I feed the children. Thats why I am worried about losing the kids. My chosen career is messing up the solutions as other posters are surviving on their IVA and would recommend it.
I am sitting here going round in circles and getting myself in a mess, I have spoken to advisers but still unsure on what to do for the best... It does seem unnecessary to go down the BR route for what is a smaller amount than others, but feel we are heading that way

I know its easy for me to say, i don't know you are your situation and i don't have a 'career' as such but isn't it better to deal with the here and now than to worry about whats down the road? I mean anything can happen in a year. Don't go BR just incase you have to go BR later! If an IVA will work for you now then do it, it will give you some head space, get all the interest stopped, get your monthly I&E in control and give you and your family some respite. If you get with a good company they will help you with the bumps along the way. What happened to the idea of the 10k and the F&F? Don't lose the spirit you had yesterday!
Speak to mels team as theyve already said got other clients. An iva is variable and peoples incomes and circumstances change throughout and a IP can help with this. You are going round in circles and back to sounding flustered!
I am flustered not sure whats best , yesterday thought the F&F IVA was the right way to go but now concerned on impact on job. Also in a tizz as have heard catalogues are a nightmare in a DMP and thats why some people have advised paying them off first with the 10k but I dont want to waste it as it could be used for F&F in IVA or also in a F&F later in a DMP
IF i knew of senior CIMAs that have maintained their careers in an IVA i would go that route as the F&F IVA could work
