I made my last IVA payment 6 weeks ago (sept 30th), 2 weeks after that I contacted my relationship manager to ask what the next steps were as I had not heard anything from them. I was told my file has been passed for completion.
I know the process can take up to 6 months, but should I expect to hear anything from my IVA company in the mean time or will the next contact I'll get be my certificate in the post?

Hi

There is no problem with asking for regular updates

Have you had a final review of your last 12 months wage slips/bank statements ?

Regards

I heard nothing during the 6 months or so from finish to completion unless I emailed and asked -- then, to be fair they gave me chapter and verse as to what was happening.

Personally I feel it's good to keep in touch as you will get to hear if there are any problems sooner and might be able to help sort them out.

I have emailed Cleardebt today. Our final payment of overtime and pay rise money was made on 27th October and I wondered what was to happen. Hubby's completion documents are coming out to him and mine are being checked then will come out. I don't like not knowing what's going on so I am very grateful for their patience with my questions!

Here's hoping we have an officially debt free Christmas.

I'm in the same boat, feels odd and can't really celebrate yet. Finished mine on Oct 13th, no idea when to expect completion as there is the dreaded PPi to investigate. Hoping that can be sorted later if I sign something.

A bit curious, why Is the PPI done after the last payment is made . Should it not be done during the 1st few years of the IVA to stop all this grieve at the end of the process. Before I entered into my IVA I personally exhausted the PPI avenue with no results, and my IP even asked the question. Does it mean I have to satisfy my IP again at the end of the term and go through the process again

Better IP's start the process early -- mine was started right at the start and never became much of an issue.

Our ppi was sorted before our final payment. We didn't have any but it still took 18 months!

SUC, your IP may still have to check as previously declined claims have now been paid. Ask whoever you are with as getting it done sooner rather than later is best.

As far as I'm aware all reviews are up to date and no further monies are due, all ppi has been investigated and their is no equity in my property. Spoke to somebody at Freeman Jones today and all they said was it can take upto 12 weeks for my case to be reviewed and unless there is a problem we won't hear anything from them during the process!!
It's so frustrating - it's like I can see the finish line, but can't get passed it!!!
Well done relieved33 - I hope my certificate is here soon!!!

Hi Gemma.cw

We do appreciate that you are keen move on from your and IVA and receiving your Completion Certificate is key to that.

Although we estimate it could take up to 12 weeks we will do our best to get this to you as soon as we can.

I hope this helps.

Sarah

Thank you Sarah - I do hope it is sooner than the estimated 12 weeks! It would be lovely to officially have a debt free Christmas and would be a wonderful start to 2015 knowing everything was complete and we can start our debt free life!!
Here's hoping x

Hi Gemma. Freeman Jones are actually one of the faster firms in getting things tied up and an early completion. Many take the full 6 months allocated, with a few going well beyond that.
