Hi lem, don't feel scared some of these creditors are nothing but bullies! We had the same thing happen to us. I got to the point where I wouldn't answer the phone and told the kids not to either!! If you need to speak to them just give them details of your IP or otherwise just ignore their calls. You are a long long way off someone turning up at your door and your IVA will be up and running in no time.
Keep strong and focused on your impending debt free life x

thank you rose, I know what hell you went through, Mercers have called me again from a different number and I spoke to them, to be honest they were ok, have made a note on my file of where I am in the IVA process, tried to get me to come to some payment arrangment which I refused and they accepted, they said they will put a hold for 14 days but as my account is now at a serious level, it will probably be sold on to external debt collectors after another 14 days who will turn up at my door.

They were asking all sorts of questions though, if I am married, have a mortgage/rent, children, job, how much my other debts are and whether they are more or less than what I owe barclaycard.

thank you julie, I called Tina as I was so upset and she was fantastic, I can't thank her enough for calming me down and reassuring me. 4 times they called me in a half hour period!, but I guess at least now i've spoken to them they are going to leave me alone for a few days (hopefully)

I hope you told them it was none of their business. They will be told all they need to know in the proposal.

If they do sell on the debt, by the time the new lot have got their behinds into gear the IVA will be in place :-)
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

They should only be concerned with the debt you have with Barclaycard lem.

I hope our Barclaycard representative can come on and advise about Mercers.

Lem - this is all good for Barclaycard to hear as they bear some responsibility for how their agents act.

Stay strong and it will be over soon. I know it doesn't feel like it now but it won't last for much longer. xx

Mercers are known for being relentless in their calls. They were the bane of my life!
