Hi Tryingtogethelp,
I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a tough time at the mo. You can't get better than Melanie so go with her advice!!
Take your time and I really hope things work out for you soon. What do you do for a job - maybe we can all look for you and find a suitable postion for you to apply for.
Hugs,

Have spoke to the IVA firm i am using and have suggested that they propose the IVA on my OH wage until i find employment, on the grounds that i pay into it as soon as i do. IS this a possiblity?

Our meeting is meant to be this friday but not sure what will happen with that yet as im waiting for my IP to get back to me.

Creditors are aware of the meeting as i have had a letter from Barclaycard asking me to send a copy of the order or whatever it is as soon as it is approved. Wouldnt suprise me if they didnt vite anyway as i only owe them £400.

Not sure what "OH" wage is?

I would not recommend allowing the IVA to continue. If you are unable to find employment within the first three months and IVA could fail which may hamper you proposing another IVA once you do obtain employment. Reason - creditors may not believe or trust what you are saying the second time round. The proposal is your proposal and it is materially wrong at this point in time.

Also, be aware your IP may be restricted on proposing a variation to your IVA if certain creditors vote and propose modifications such as "no variation is to be proposed within the first 24 months" or something similar.

OH wage will be the 'other halfs' wage.

What an awful time you are having. I really feel for you as you are so close to your meeting.

Have you had any luck yet on the employment front? If you'd got some irons in the fire that would probably help.

I think you are just going to have to wait and see what your IP comes back with. Fingers crossed that it is a good solution.

What do they mean by advising you to continue with the proposal basing your payments on your partner's salary? Surely this was taken into account when your proposal was prepared, so I am struggling to understand how they feel that you will be able to make the same level of payments without an income?

Melanie, I think tryingtogethelp has asked if he can do this and is awaiting a reply from his IP. I don't think they advised him to do it.

I think it is suggested i dont contribute until i am in employment. I cant really understand what is going on but have arranged to speak to my IP in the morning.

I think i will be telling them to withdraw my application and then when i find employment use another firm such as Melanies. Although i did make an enquiry with Melanies firm twice, the first time they got back to me but i was unsure about an IVA so didnt follow it up. The second time i never heard anything so stayed with clear debt, although i have never spoken to the IP direct as yet. Maybe i missed Melanies calls as i have a habbit of not answering numbers i do not know. ITs usually creditors after money.

This is stupid, as far as the creditors are aware there is meeting going ahead at 12 noon on friday- I AM CONFUSED.COM!

On that Jan...cleardebt have said they want to propose the IVA just based on my partners Salary. I did not suggest this. They approached me and asked if i wanted to do this. It never even came into my thoughts as i didnt think it was an option.

Are Cleardebt talking rubbish?

I am still not understanding how you could afford to pay the IVA contributions on your partner's earnings until you find work. Is it that you have not disclosed a partner in the IVA proposal?
