I think that your post says it all Dizzy, and what a horrible experience to have had to be subjected to simply because you decided you wanted to do something about repaying your debts, and the government is allowing your personal details to be available on the internet to all and sundry as a result of that.
It's so frustrating these companies are allowed to get details and send letters.
I would call them and ask them to call you back at a convenient time..then listen to them squirm as you bombard them with questions about how they possibly could help you [:)] ( personally tried and tested) [:D]
That's insulting genuine junk mail! I call it offensive mail personally!
