Hi Welshman
I sure do but I consider it money well spent as I have had their account for over three years.
I think that you will find that "free" accounts will only be for those with a healthy minimum balance in a few years time.

Hi unlucky,

Please contact your I.P straight away and get some advice as to what you can do or where you go from here. It may be possible that they will give you a payment break and then just add the months onto the end of your IVA but as others have stated if you haven’t received help for your gambling problem your I.P may see this as a risk.

If you did decide to go bankrupt it is not a certainty that you would be given a Bankruptcy Restrictions Order (BRO). This is usually given out by the OR where the conduct of the individual has been either dishonest or involved in illegal activities etc.

Please do seek some professional help; this is the best way to overcome your gambling problem. It is very hard to overcome an addiction and go through an IVA alone, if possible tell your family or friends as you will need the emotional support.

Best Regards. IVA Experts

Hi Unlucky1, I'm glad you have sorted things out with your IP. As the others have said, please get help from GA, and also please think about opening a Think Banking account. I don't usually recommend them due to the fees, but I think it would be excellent for you.

Good luck with the rest of your IVA, and please keep posting to let us know how you are getting on, or if you feel like gambling again come on here for a chat - there's usually someone around! You have done really well so far and I'm sure you'll get there in the end.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

hi, like skippy said, if you feel an urge to gamble, come on here and have a chat there is always someone about even at 2.00 in the morning. its easy to talk to us because we dont judge like some can. we are all on here for a reason and that is spending beyond our means wether it being gambling or just living.

hope you can grt through it. talking to people on here has stopped me eating impulsive snacks if that helps!!!![:I]

I know it definately helps talking on here
thanks you all for your advice i have heard it all before and do take it on board time and time again the urge to gamble just becomes stronger than all the reasons not to, i am determined to beat it and feel i am on the road to recovery, however i know it is a long one!
The next step is to tell my family and gfriend that the problem is worse than they expect and i need more help than i let on! They are all aware i am in an iva and that gambling has contributed to my debt problems however they are not aware of the exact figures of my debt and how much was caused by gambling
Thanks Again All

Hi unlucky
Thinkbanking would be a good idea as it would seperate your bill money from the rest and at least the bills would be paid and you would not be able to access the money so easily.
All the best get the help and support you need from family etc, gambling you are just giving the money away, keep it for yourself and have some proper fun.
