Hello, I watched a lady called Mellanie on her website. I am approx 50,000 in debt. My circs radically shifted about five years ago and I did with help of citizens advice, come to amicable agreed reduced payments on all my debts. I have been paying these agreed amounts regularly all this time, but now my creditors all seem to be contacting me with raised demands and I feel back to where I was five years ago. I dont know what to do - please help, I have heard about something called IVA which considering I am now just over 60 I might need to look into. I felt I had all the freak out behind me, but now it all feels horrid again and I feel apprehensive as to how to deal with stuff. one company has now stated that they are putting interest back on which means even though I am paying regularly the bill is actually going up!
I have done my best. but I cant afford the rising demands. If they just kept the agreements in place it would be okay, but now I am realising that this can go on for ever and that feels really challanging. any advice would be sincerely and gratefully appreciated. thankyou.
Sandy

Hi Rainbowspace and welcome, unfortunately this shows how a debt management plan can leave you getting nowhere. If you dont mind posting how many creditors you have and your disposable income( what is left after paying living expenses but not the debts)then I am sure you will get some good advice on the forum as to solutions for you. Melanie should be on at some point.

All the best
Ang

Hi Rainbow

Welcome to the forum. You may be asked for IVA if you have any proprty and if there is sufficient equity with these. But before you take that route and contact any IVA comany wait for some advice from here first.

A couple of other things are do you own property, if so is there equity in it. I am like you just someone in debt and now in an iva. So it would be best to wait for more expert answers. It tends to be a bit quiet at this time so be patient and I am sure others will come along soon.

If you are logged in click on your name and your profile will come up then click on profile and you should be able to change it from there. What you see on the screen here is all that others can see.

Rainbow, you could try the PROFILE option at the top of the screen and I am sure it's there you can change the details.

Try and get some recommendations of IVA's here before you take the next step. There are so many companies out there some good some maybe not so good. But I'm sure Melanie will advise what steps to take next.

Maz, thanks tried profile, I can change my password, but couldnt fine option to change user name.
Initially I thought I was just writing to Melanie. and it is from her I thought of seeking advice, as she seemed less challanging than a lot of the stuff on the web, which I felt was a bit dubious!
Thanks for your caring...
