Bear in mind that StepChange are funded by the banks and receive thousands of referrals from the banks each month. Get another opinion from an independent firm and see whose advice corresponds best.

Why not give Melanie Giles or McCambridge Duffy who both post on the forum a ring, or ring both. They are good honest people who will go through everything with you and then hopefully you can make that informed decision in respect of a debt solutioin and get the ball rolling. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Personally I would speak to Mel for advice. This is a real and upfront ip who posts on here with great advice. If I had to do my Iva again it would be Mel all the way!!!
5 years done and dusted. Certificate received.

I would be happy to have a chat with Susandv20, and whilst my firm does not present IVAs where the disposable income is as low as £80, I can refer her to a couple of good firms that will. Why are StepChange denying this person the solution of their choice, simply because it does not fit their own commercial model? Where is the charity in all that??

Hi all thank you for the responses. Foggy asked who I had talked to. Well Step Change and Tina from Melanie's company are the ones who had queries over my income and Vincent Bond are the only ones who think he can give me a workable solution.
We are merrily trying to reduce outgoings and am about to save 50 a month as I discovered dave and I only had a small whole life assurance and all the rest of the 83 a month in total is for short term policies that expire in a couple of years and once that is over we get nothing if either of us die. What a waste of money!!
Melanie thank you for the offer of the chat. Tina has our details.
I just want to be sorted and to keep the house. Its been our family home for nearly 25 years.
Thank you all for the help and just for reading.
Susan
