Agree with Foggy - it is nothing to do with your IP company.

Given that they withdrew the cover, rather than you cancelling it, I would challenge the element of cancellation fees included in the £200. Mention you will be making a formal complaint against them if it is not resolved satisfactorily.

So I had a couple of calls from various insurance brokers this morning. Guess what!....The same insurer is quoting from all 3. I told them all about my IVA to which they replied "No problem. It shows on your credit check whether you tell us or not. It's not a question that is asked anymore. You would just need to pay in full"...

Your IP may sanction a short payment break to allow you to pay the insurance costs in full. You could then increase your payments for the remainder of the year to catch up.

We never had insurance cancelled but we did struggle to get a good deal which would allow monthly payments. Over the course of the IVA we have been insured by Swinton, insure the box and current insurer is Hastings. They all gave monthly payments with no problem.
getting there ....

Got there!!
IVA started 27/10/2010
final payment 27/10/2015
CC received 6/5/16
Off the register 5/8/16

One Call, Kwik Fit, and Swift Cover. Paid monthly with all of them during the IVA, no problems, and for a good deal as well.
My opinions are just that: Based on my experience and being a self-employed IVA customer.

I changed to bell a couple months in and no mention of the iva and my partners with swing in no questions asked....my insurance is to be renewed next month and I'm a little worried about changing Incase they say no or want the money upfront and there would be no way we could afford that much hence why we do monthly.

Hi there,

I've had car and home insurance paid monthly with More Than, Swinton, Hastings Direct and Tesco while I was in my IVA, and none of them had an issue with it.
Started IVA 27th Feb 2012 - Due to complete 27th Jan 2018 !!

Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA :)

Completion Certificate received- 30th April 2015!!
