I have missed my January payment partly through christmas spending etc. I am nearly 2 years in my IVA and had my original payments of £298 increased to £540 per month when I had a salary rise. I have managed to pay £500 permonth but the £40 was difficult to find resulting in arrears £700 I have wrote to DFD to ask if I can pay the missed payment with February's (a freind has offered to help me out) but recieved a letter today to say if I do not call them by the 19th I may be in breach of my IVA. Can any one advise me as would that mean me being made BR? I have wrote to DFD and promised to make 2 payments at end of January surely BR is not in anyones interest.
Hi Howard
You are correct in that bankruptcy does not benefit anyone. You have also demonstrated that you are willing to make up for the shortfall. If you would like to send me a quick email me with your name or reference number (if you have it to hand) then I will happily look into this for you and arrange to have this issue sorted out.
My email address can be found in my profile listed on the experts section.
excellent response declan with your response to howards post.if you need to miss any payments howard its always best to inform your supervisor, and if you are finding it difficult to meet your payments then it should,nt be a problem for your ip to reduce them to make your iva more manageable.good look and let us know how you get on.
The first port of call with any payment problems should always be the IP.
We all have times when we struggle with the payments. If you can make up the shortfall then I am sure your IP will be sympathetic. Declan will certainly do what he can for you.
