I am in the in my iva 3months now, but recently i wanted to save money from ditching my orange mobile contract and going with bt broadband everywhere here you get a mobile for cheaper and all this would have been is an upgrade on my bt broadband that exists but they did a credit check and said no which does not make anysense as i went for an upgrade which was only £5 extra on my bill everymonth i totally angry that i have not been told how this iva affects me.

Also i rent property do they do credit checks at property agencies if i want to leav?e my rented property to go to a new rented property?.

Welcome to the forum, an expert will be along shortly to advise you. Unfortunately your credit score will probably be rubbish but I'm sure it would have been rubbish before the IVA too. Not sure about the phone thing but many forum members have been able to rent whilst in an IVA, please wait for someone more experienced than me to help you. Viki X

I wasn't in an IVA when I did BT Broadband, but I WAS in a DMP and I know my credit history was total rubbish because I used to check it frequently to see how many more red circles I had! My home was with BT anyway and I just ordered total broadband and got it no problem. Can't understand why they didn't give it you if you already have broadband.

I'm in an IVA.. I'm quite scared to try and change things such as car/home insurance in case of credit checks.. we have our own home so rental agencies aren't an issue, but I think they may do credit checks as previous posts may have mentioned on here
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go
