I have settled my IVA but some of my creditors are still showing me as defaulting on my credit rating. Is this normal? The settlement was immediate due to me leaving the armed forces and getting a lump sum that allowed payment of a percentage of the debt.

Hi Phil,

Yes the defaults will show on your credit reports for 6 years from the day they are registered which should be the date that the IVA began.

As Ryan says, you are stuck with those defaults for 6 years as well as the IVA being on record. Have a read here : https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I would check the original dates the defaults were added to ensure they are correct. Sometimes if you write to a creditor and ask for removal some will do this but only in certain circumstances. Nothing to loose by asking them.
