I just wanted to post to say thank you to all of the advice and support that this site offers to people in an IVA. I really wish I had known about it a long time ago, as I am just over 3 years into mine. At the beginning I was scared and didn't know what to expect, and I guess I have been lucky as I have had no issues with annual reviews and my IP pretty much leaves me alone to get on with it.....If I make all my payments on time, they don't seem to care about much else!
That said, it would have been good to talk anonymously with experts who have no vested interest when I first started. An IVA is a big commitment, and I hope that when I finish mine I will NEVER make the awful financial decisions I made before...........
Again, big thanks to all the people who monitor and post on here, I hope we can all continue to support eachother
and a hi and welcome from me too clarey, i think that those of us that stumble across this site thank those that post and give such sound advice, i too wish i had found this site but am safe in the knowledge that i have now got an invaluable source of information and help should i need it. Good luck with the remainder of your IVA you have done really well. xxx
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
To be honest I was just thinking the other day about what I will be able to do in 22 months time when I have paid my WHOLE IVA off....... the £355 I have to pay each month will definitely come in handy! So I googled IVA's and mortgages etc. for people who had finished theirs and found the link to this site.
I am going to start a blog for others to read my whole story, and maybe give others who have just entered into their IVA's some hope!
I have been reading some threads on the forum and I am so glad to know that there are other people willing to give advice and support to people who are in this difficult situation.
What a smashing inspirational post, and great that you are looking forward to the future, rather than worrying about the past. Please do a blog, as a lot of people would get much benefit from this - especially those who are thinking of proposing an IVA or DMP at present.
Welcome from me too. It's good to hear from people who are doing well with their IVA's.
Please do blog, it would be good to read your story.

Thanks so much for all your messages. The more posts and topics I read on here, the more I wish I had known about the site 3 years ago when I started.
Melanie and her team seem to me to be open, honest and fully on the side of people who are trying so hard to find a solution to their money worries.
As we all know, many factors contribute to the reasons why people find that an IVA is the last chance for them before bankruptcy, and I applaud those brave enough to share their stories.
