Vinnie I completely get where you are coming from. I am the worlds most impatient person! But it isn't worth stressing about something you have no control over...better to accept the wait and carry on with life...for your own sanity!!!

Hi Everyone
As I have said I finished my IVA payments in Oct 2011 and I after contacting Grant Thornton recieved these two contradicting Emails I just want my closure certificates as I want to get my life back together HELP

Unfortunately we have experienced a unexpected delay in completing the final administration necessary to allow us to send your documents in the timeframe that we had originally anticipated. We will track your case and contact you with further information and a new timeframe as soon as this is available.

I know that you will be disappointed by this news, please allow me to assure you that we will close your case as soon as we can legally and compliantly do so.

We have today completed a detailed review of your case, we have assessed any interim payments made to your creditors and calculated the final dividend to be paid. We are now at the final stages of closure of your case. We have a final distribution to make to your creditors and are completing the final administration on your case. Therefore we should be in the position to issue your closure documents within the next 4 weeks. If this is not possible for any reason I will contact you to advise. I have also enclosed an overview of this stage of the closure process which you may find useful entitled 'Final Stages'. Thank you for your continuing patience in this matter.

Britta - you might want to edit your post to get rid of your email address - you could be bombarded by spam and it's also no allowed on the forum.

As to closure, GT are currently sorting out PPI claims and people are having to wait a long time - some well over twelve months.

I'm afraid you will just have to be patient.

Took The plunge and made the call, changed our family life and we have never been happier. Debt free and wont go back..... IVA was by far the best thing we ever did to teach us the real value of Family and money

Hi Guys,
As I have said I made my final payment to Grant Thornton in October 2011 and as I said I was instructed that it would take up to 6 months to compleat this would have taken compleation date up to April 2012.
After a lot of tooing a fro-ing with Grant Thornton One Excuse after the other from different members of GT staff I finaly recieved my Closure Certificate. The letter contining the Closure Certificate was Dated 18th June 2013 and It was Post Marked 5 July 2013 What Happend to the post at GT in those 3 weeks !!! I think they are of the attude we have kept this person waiting so long what is another 3 weeks !!!

Congratulations on finally getting that elusive certificate --- 3 weeks to post a letter ???? Maybe they were waiting until they had enough to make the walk to the post box worthwhile :-)

To be fair though -- it could as easily have been languishing in a sorting office somewhere too.

At least the flow of CC's from GT seems to be continuing :-)
