Hi tara and welcome to the forum
You may be able to propose an IVA, but will probably need a disposable income in the region of £250 per month to make it viable.
If you have equity in your jointly owned property, this is also likely to be affected by an IVA, in which case you will need to tell your partner about your difficulties as he will need to consent to any future raising of equity.
I deal with a lot of people who are initially reluctant to tell their partners about their debts. I can assure you that you will probably feel a lot better when things are out in the open, and you will need your partner's ongoing moral(and financial)support whilst you decide the best route to resolve your difficulties.
Take a deep breath and explain things to him carefully. I feel sure he will want to help.
With regard to your student loan, depending upon the amount of this compared to the rest of your creditors, they may reject an IVA proposal so do take specific advice before proceeding from either an insolvency practitioner or debt management company.
