Just seen my name on the insolvency register. Urggghhh. Feel quite exposed now, and very defensive. Why is that ? Nemind, there is absolutely nothing i can do about it. Gonna keep myself busy today otherwise i will sit and brood.

I'm not looking forward to this either but i figure how many people actually know it exists? I mean, I didnt until I was on the process of gettingan IVA. So i dont think many people will ever think to look.

I'm just not going to look to find my name

I don't think anyone I know would think to look on there. As far as they are concerned, I'm solvent (if only they knew the half of it!)

I've only looked once and that was enough. I know some people have googled their names and it has come up on there, but mine doesn't. But then, I don't know many people who would want to do that!

Quark I know how you feel I looked my name up on the insolvency register and some how it made it real. I am not too worried about people I know looking at it as I am sure people just wouldn't. As Rayb said don't look again until the IVA is over I know I am not too scary.

when I first saw mine and hubby's name on there I was like, 'OMG!!!'. Not now though, I thank my lucky stars for seeing sense and getting our situation sorted. I too, never want to get into debt again and never thought what we could manage without credit but we do.
It's nice to be back......

I wonder why some come up on the Google search and others don't ... mine doesn't and I've never looked at the register myself.

I think it depends on how unusual your name is Debbie. When I type your name into Google you are number 1 and number 2 on the first page - but not for your previous insolvency but for your businesses.

There are a lot of people with the same name as me, estate agents in America, an artist, an author, so they are the ones that come up when I google my name.

Hubby comes up as an American pyschologist, basketball player and an estate agent to name but a few!

Nothing about the register though I'm glad to say.

I never found myself on Google - I'm obviously far too common!

I've just checked and I am on there, no need to look again now until my IVA is over. However given how things are these days with identity fraud I'm not sure I like the idea of my full name,DOB and address being in the public domain. On the other hand no-one pretending to me would be able to get credit! lol
Full and Final agreed 28th October 2010.
