i was in an iva 3 years ago but settled all my debts in full as the terms were ridiculous. on my credit report it shows the iva as a ccj also there is a ccj on there for one of the debts which i was told to ignore at the time by synergi and told it wasn,t going to court by this was also paid in full but does not show as paid does this seem right .
also talking about the terms i still to this day dont know how i was supposed to obtain a remortage after waiting for six months for a proposal and not be allowed to pay any debtors which of course meant that my credit rating dissapeared which meant that i could not get a new mortgage
I'm a little confused as to why you were in an IVA if you were able to settle your debts in full, and why you agreed to it if the terms were ridiculous. Exactly what were the terms? Did you do a full and final, or did you let the IVA fail and negotiate with your creditors?
I'm afraid trying to get a remortgage is pretty standard now and we all have to try. If you can't get one then the repayments normally carry on for a further twelve months.
Your IVA will remain on your record for a further three years.
As regards the CCJ, I suggest in the first instance that you write to the creditor concerned if you paid them off.
As regards not making any payments whilst waiting for the IVA, it is not true that you are not allowed to make any payments, if you wish to, then that is up to you.
Your credit rating would have gone anyway as soon as you entered the IVA.
