Hi,
Some odd reason I can't start a blog,
However I was just thinking how do cope with down days?
I'm about 3 years in to my Iva, and I must admit being in this position gets me down sometimes. Yes I'm paying off my bills and certainly have more money than before the iva, however money's tight and I've had some big bills this month , Xmas is around the corner....

My way round down days is cooking from scratch. Taking each little ingredient one by one and putting them together to make something lovely. Kinda like my bills little by little it'll end and I'll be in a better place.
No child ever starved by not having the latest hatching or smart phone.
Guess what I'm saying is anyone having a down day is keep going there is an end!
Sandy

I had a gym membership through my 6 year IVA and it didn't matter how many times I went, the cost was the same. That helped keep my spirits up when times were hard. It was also a place to go when I had to take AL fro. Work but had no money to go away

Many get down when they think of the enormity of being stuck like this for 5 years, or whatever time is left. One trick I played on my mind was to think of time passed as a percentage, rather than in chronological time ..... just felt more to have managed 20%, rather than a year ---- and always think in terms of what you have achieved rather than what is ahead.

Looking forwards 5 years seems a lot ... but, really, when you look back, it passes quickly. Five years ago ---- London Olympics, Queen's 60th year on the Throne and Whitey Houston passed. Seems like yesterday!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

We looked on ours as a loan - one we could actually pay off!!

Look at free days out with friends and family - there is so much to do out there for free but often we don't do it.
In our iva we learnt that taking picnic out on a walk was a way to feel like you are out enjoying yourselves ....
