Please can you help. I went b/c in March. My wife has a credit rating of 999 which is excellent as you will agree. The problem is my wife applied for a credit card and has been refused. Would this be because of my b/c.? It seems unfair that she is being penalised because of me. We have no credit in joint names. Is there anything that can be done to rectify this problem? Thanks Nick

Hi nick
I think that husband and wife are considered to be linked financially when it comes to credit.Banks etc can refuse applications without giving reasons.
I doubt that there is anything that you can do but I may be corrected on that.

I agree with Andy's thoughts, but Storm is usually the forum's best expert on credit ratings and hopefully he will be on line at some time this evening.
