I wish to take the IVA route but I am re-training and will not qualify untill February or March next year. I have enough funds to make resonable monthly payments for several months. Would I qualify and if not what would be the way forward.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I have put forward many proposals to creditors (which they have accepted) where the payments to the arrangement may not start for a few months because of maternity leave, waiting for a new job to start and like yourself, retraining. I really do not think it will be a problem.

However whether or not you would qualify for an IVA will depend on all of your circumstances. You should speak to an Insolvency Practitioner who will be able to advise you of all the options open to you.
Kind regards, Elizabeth Pywowarczuk, Insolvency Practitioner.
