I am already 1 month in arears and understand that we need to be 3 months in arears. the debt company say that a meeting would then be set up with the creditors who between them would decide wether to make me bankrupt. If they decide not to make me bankrupt i can myself. Is this all can you help ?

You can declare yourself bankrupt at any time - it costs £485 at your local Court, and that is your choice. Being in an IVA does not stop you doing this.
