I'm thinking about applying for an IVA, if i do and it starts, and the 1 year down the line I receive about £5k in an inheritence (this has not happened but it sadly on the cards), would i be able to put it into a building society to save for a deposit on a house, or would it have to go straight to the IVA as a lump sum?

Hi there

The inheritance would be a windfall and therefore payable to your IVA.
