I couldn't agree more with Catullus - this is a ridiculous IVA.

Hello W75,

I am sorry to hear of your situation. Would you consider posting a review of your experiences at www.IVA.com? This could be very useful to others considering entering into an IVA.

I hope that you are able to resolve this. Please let us know how you get on.

Been a while I know but thought I would update you all with what has happened. My IVA is now completed, so good news about that.

My partner's £100 a month IVA is still in place but interestingly there is no Equity release clause in place according to what the IP told me on the phone.

My partner has £4,700.00 left to pay barring any increases at review times. There is a posibility that we may be able to get hold of £4000 to offer as a pay off. Is this an acceptable offer? We asked the IP's assistant and he said at a guess that we would have to offer about £6000? Is this correct?

I would have thought that £4,700 would be a very good offer. Ask your partner's IP to provide you with a settlement figure.

Hi Mel,

Thanks for replying so quickly. The IP will not give us a settlement figure for some reason. They have told us to put down what we propose in writing. Do you think that they would accept £4700.00 considering that the IP assistant stated that £6000.00 would be acceptable?

So they are being really helpful then!!! This sort of thing makes me so cross - I suggest you write to them instructing them to put an offer forward of £4,700 and ask them to confirm how long this will take.
