Hi there just like to know, i have a together mortgage with Northern Rock where i got a secured and unsecured amount to do the house up with...we have little equity in house im going Bankrupt next Thursday wife will buy it hopefully, but ive seen conditions in the (Mortgage offer General Conditions)where if im made bankrupt or enter into any IVA (which got refused)that condition 18.When the offer of Debt becomes immediately payable...c. if (you are an individual)a bankruptcy order is made against you or you enter into into a voluntary arrangement with your creditors....does this mean they will/could sell our home anyway..or do they hardly use this condition i am not behind with the mortgage no secured debt apart from mortgage but will be dumping the unsecured debt when i go br...cheers, Help!!!!

Hi tt
I've often wondered myself if Northern Rock would actually ever enforce that provision - I suspect not so long as mortgage payments were being maintained by your wife.

darren if you speak to admin they will pass your e-mail onto those you want to contact a few of us have done that already.

in regards to northern rock i still can't answer even after seeing the OR today, our house is going under the BR and it gets passed over to another trustee, he told us today we will get 2 years here but it is up to us whether we stay and carry on paying mortgage or let NR reposs by stop paying mortgage, he suggested i contact NR easier for me as i am already BR not for you as they may try to secure the unsecured part of your loan quickly on the house if you tell them now, mel will correct me on that if i am wrong.

my good bit of news is i didn't get an IPa so have to pay nothing, neither does hubby, all i will lose is my home and my car and they won't give me a provision for another car, all in all the OR was very nice and helpful.
