Hi all

I also received one of these letters this morning from the IVA watchdog based in Bournemouth, saying that I could save as much as £8,000 pound based on the information they have for me, mine is going in the bin. it also says that i can be discharged from my debt within 6 months.

Thanks again for all your replies.
Why are firms like this allowed to operate...I supposed there is no law against it, but they pray on people like us...and without forums like this great one, we would believe all they say and be in an even bigger mess than before.

Ignore it Chappie, the only way you can be free of debt with them is probably via a remortgage - which puts you deeper in debt!

Unfortunately kal, as fast as one of these firms are shut down, two more start up in their place. Anyone on this forum knows better than to believe them, it's the other poor people who get suckered into it that I feel sorry for!

I could offer the same service as one of these companies.charge you a grand to get you a remortgage which means you will be paying more over longer than you would in a IVA. These people really are scum.(and thats not putting it as strongly as I would like)
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

My partner has had failed IVA for a few years now and received one of these letters from IVA Watchdog a few weeks ago. We haven't rung them yet and we're not going to now.
Does anyone know the next steps in going bankrupt or are there any alternatives?

Normski

Hi,

Don't blame you for not ringing them. Would this be just for your partner, or for both of you?

Either way, the only alternatives to bankruptcy are another IVA or a Debt Management Programme.

If you have no assets, then BR could be a way forward, but you can do it yourself for just the court costs. The forms can be filled in online.

Have a chat to an IP to discuss your options. Visit www.iva.com and just phone one or two up to see what is the best way forward for your circumstances.

If you decide that bankruptcy is the way forward, you can ask any questions on here and we will be happy to help you.

The IVA Watchdog is owned by the same people that ran the IVA Council. The whois history on their domain name confirms this.

Stop these scammers, please!

Unfortunately, as fast as you close one down, another two will step in to fill the breach.
