My Fiance has an IVA, we are looking to buy a house, it will be based on my earnings as i know she cannot have a mortage untill the IVA is over. we are also wanting to get married. are there any implications of us being married and us living in a house thats just in my name?

Hi
No problem with the house, just treat her as a lodger and charge her market rent.
The only change may be to your partners disposible income but if that remains the same then it will not affect her IVA
Good Luck

She will, of course, need to tell her IP of her change in circumstances, and he/she may well want to see a revised income and expenditure account detailing the family household income and expenditure - especially after you have married.

So even if we are married she can be classed as a lodger?
With the house in my name no-one can say that my fiance has equity available and demand that is used?

Thanks for replies

Unlikely that anyone could claim she has a beneficial interest.

Hi Melanie

thanks, sorry to be a pain but does that still stand as unlikely even if married?
