5 payments left on my IVA..ppi payment made straight to my creditors £5.500..On top of the payments..Rang up to have a moan and the guy re-worked out my expenditure and I have been paying £290 bur on his calculations it can be £207 a month (with extra month - 4 becomes 5) Just wanted a little moan. Awful when your struggling and you have been perhaps been paying over the odds and five and a half grand and you dont see a penny of it..Only happened an hour ago..Just need a little moan..Tomorrow I hope to see the bright side. Would have been easier if I had been paying £207 for last 4 years as my ingoing and outgoing been the same as today since then..Big Sigh :-/

But do you not feel better knowing you have paid more of your debts back?

Sorry for late relly, problems with home internet but sorted. I owed around £19k but was given 5 years at £290. I explained my incoming would drop in 6 months but it fell on deaf ears. The IP have never been interested and my temporary reductions where tagged on the end. Its become 72 months. I resorted back to the £290 because I wanted to get out of debt basically and it would have taken forever. So struggled and did without a lot of things. I did a review over the phone incoming-outgoing and told to pay £207 for remainder. My incoming has been the same since 6-8 months after I began the IVA. I will have paid £17.400 into the pot. Very Naive, I rang DFD after the £5.5k was paid in and asked them to ~"write off" the last 4 payments (which is now 5) not expecting them to do this, think I just wanted a good moan and express myself a little..It helped to a degree as the guy was sympathetc. Nothing much I can do really except knuckle down and pay - without a smile lol..Just sometimes feels like an IVA is a punishment not what I once believed it to me. I have always wanted to pay a decent amount back..Pity its not the 50/50 rule for PPI that it is for overtime..Half would have given me a easier time and even a first holiday in 8 years..But hey, a lot of people worse off them me :-/

An IVA is not a punishment Radish, but it is a good mechanism to take creditor pressure away from you and allow you to make affordable payments over a set period of time. If that means you ultimately are able to repay the debts in full, or almost as much, then that surely has to be a bonus - so long as the payments have been affordable of course.
