just been talking to robs or, and we will probably lose our car. Cause its worth £3100 not £2000 which is their limit. The fact that we need a seven seater cause of kids doesn't matter she said and if say i wanted to buy it I would have to come up with £3100 not the £1100 over the £2000. This has really done my head in as I made in april £2100 worth of repairs to the car.
Sorry to go on but I have an evening of finding 12 months statements of everything, proof of everything and I can't deal with this anymore.

Hi Jayne

I know its hard but please dont give up yet, there will be a way forward, there always is. I know its only a car to the OR but its freedom for you and they do this everyday but its a one in a lifetime issue for you.

This time next year you will have moved on, you must have been through such a lot since you fist realised your debt problem, youre nearly there. You are tired and stressed but once this is sorted you are going to feel so much better. Hang in there for now, its no wonder youre feeling so low but you will bounce back.

Did you explain that Rob needs the car for work? It seems very unfair that she has said that you would have to buy the full amount for the car and not just the beneficial interest. I would dispute this decision, how else will Rob get to work if you have no car?

its not definat, I have to explain about the kids, the fact I paid repairs but she said she can't promise. I just can't get over the fact that i would have to pay full price for the car or that they don't give you any money to buy a cheaper one even though he needs a car for work,

Have they said why Rob can't keep the car for work? I've heard that sometimes if work is less than a certain distance and/or there is an adequate bus service this can be why they claim the car. It seems so unfair but it may turn out where you can keep it,

she didn't really say only that if a car is worth upto £2000 and you need it for work or to actively seek work then you can keep it.
I know its only a car but I will still have to pay £2100 back to my card and we may not even have the car to use.
I was just upset when she said that kids don't come in to it.

Yes Jayne, the kids don't come into it but the fact that Rob NEEDS the car for work should be sufficient for them to allow you to have the car for work, although you may have to pay so much to for the B/I.
Maybe one of the experts will be able to advise you better but I think the main point for compromise is Rob's employment being affected,

Know what you mean about cars. Mine failed its MOT just before IVA meeting.

I'm not sure if your OR has given you the correct advice.
IF THEY AGREE that you need the car they should allow you to pay the difference over the allowance[in your case 2k].

I don't agree that you will not be allowed to keep an allowance of £2,000 and you should fight this as your husband has to retain a car for work purposes. Which OR's office are you dealing with?

Hi melanie its exeter, She has asked me to send her tons of stuff and is phoning rob on wednesday at 9am. She said she couldn't give me a definate on the car until she had all the info, but she sefo said and I questioned her that I or someone else would have to pay the full amount and not the difference which I thought was mad but at the time i was just so upset.
Thanks for getting back to me, I have photocopied receipts of the bill i paid in february for £2200 and also put in a note like she asked me too explaining that i spent money on the car and that we have 4 kids and also tnat rob needs the car for work. Will have to see what see says on wednesday.
