That probably is why then.

That was never mentioned to us as an option, we have equity in the house and our next door but one neighour has just rented out his house (same as ours but only three bedrooms instead of four)for £725 a month so going on that we would be saving over £1300 a month, so we could have paid everyone off in full!

The closest I shall get to a house in the sun is where I live now when we have a hot summer!

I can dream though!

I would definately recommend a personal chat with David Mond, AngelC - just for an alternative opinion.

I will not put IVAs forward at £180 per month, but that is a commerical decision I have taken within my practice and is personal to me - David I know will work with lower levels of DI and quite successfully I gather.

Going back to the homeless situation. Jan you are right if you hand your keys over volantiry then yes this would be classed as intentinal homeless. I wasreferring that if you are forced to sell then that might be deemed as statutory homeless and in these cases they would have a duty. It is always worth speeking to a local authourity first in your area to see what thier interpretation is.

I still stand by the fact that you will probably be put into a B&B rather than a house or flat.

Yes Jan you are right it is likely to be a b&b until they can provide a proper home. However they also have a duty to store your furniture as well.

Here they store the furniture alright - in a school which has closed and is frequently vandalized - we are so short of the boys in blue not much can be done about it and often furniture stored is damaged or stolen

That's a poor service. Around here they use a local removal and storage company.

This Council is hopeless - the elected reps cannot control the Chief Exec - he does what he likes.

would have thought that if your furniture is damaged in storage then you should be able to claim for replacement or repair

Thanks Melanie. I will definitely contact David. You have made my decision easier because you both come with such high recommendations and have been so helpful that I would have felt guilty choosing one of you.

I am hopeful that we will be able to offer more money if we can extend the term of our mortgages or maybe we can find other areas where we can save a few pounds which will cover David's costs. We are willing to consider anything.

David I will be in touch soon. Hope you can help.

Big thanks to everyone. I'm feeling a lot happier and more optimistic than I was when I first found this site.
