You hit the nail on the head angel - it's addictive.
As I use a laptop, I can be on here and watch TV at the same time! Me and hubby don't go out a lot, so I am very sad and am on here all the time!
I also work as well!

going back to your original post angelc. You say your di is £180 per month in line with cccs guidelines. I think the guidelines are the maximum and maybe you could possibly trim this a little bit to provide a bit more DI. This can then only help your IVA be accepted.

I am wary of trimming allowances to make sure your DI is higher. I would put down everything you spend and leave it to the IP to decide if things are too high or not allowed.
If you cut down too much then you might find you cannot afford your payments which is a sure fire way of failing.

I think so too. Originally I put in less for food etc but DFD increased it!
I've been keeping a record of our budget for the last 6 months to compare it and we are currently running at £80 less than they have given us (ignoring the contingency allowance which we haven't used yet).

I agree and it would be nice to know there was a bit spare in case we needed it. I definitely won't agree to anything that I think might stretch us - can't risk it failing (if we ever get it agreed).

I am getting confused re allowances, expenditure and income. If by any remote chance something can be saved from the allowances can that be retained or does it have to be accounted for and handed over?
Jan, I'm not suggesting leaving yourself short but from the original post it looked to me that the full allowance was being used rather than what was actually being spent or needed and I thought that perhaps this could help the situation.
David, I believe that any savings you make after your IVA is started you can keep. However I think if your IP noticed yiou had managed to save substantial amounts then this might lead to them asking you to pay more at review.

Paul - I should be so lucky - our son is 18 - eats us out of house and home and gets through clothes like there is no tomorrow! he hopes to study music at the RA and has to have very smart clothes for his public solo perforances. Thde orchestras dictate the clothes.
Hi
Any savings that you can make from your agreed allowances are yours to do with as you choose.
If your expenses decrease then you should inform your IP, normally at the annual review
Regards
