Jan- I thought I was hard up! The only independent garage closed- the owner is a guest of the Queen- not only claiming benefits he was fitting stolen parts- caught by a boy in blue - the mechanic boasted he could get any part cheap!
There are times when I am glad that I live in a larger community where we do have a good choice for everything, from takeaways to garages.

Good luck angelc. I'm sure you will be ok with David.
I would recommend that you either email or phone Cleardebt rather than post the reference number on here.

Hi David
Do you mean my IVA.com Support Number?
I have emailed you this via your website.
Best time to talk to me is in the evenings. I will be home by 5.00 today but am going to ring the mortgage company to see what they have to say. I will ring you after that.
We are screening our calls so if you leave a message I will ring you back.
Many thanks.

I can’t thank you enough. Jonathan is fantastic and has come up with a very simple, pain free solution that solves our problem.
He has suggested that we pay £200 per month into a DMP until there is enough equity in the house for us to sell it. That way we won’t have to have our house repossessed. It buys us the time we need and means we don’t have to create any more debt. We feel we can quite comfortably meet this payment although it would take us 30 years to clear the debt!
Who knows, further down the line, we may not even have to sell the house after all. The main thing is, it puts us back in control and takes the pressure off.
No-one else has ever suggested that a DMP would be an option. I cannot express how relieved we are.
Thank you so much. I will be singing your praises on the forum for years to come.
My username is angelc - don't know why I used that name but I had a feeling there was an angel looking over me when I found this site - I was right.

Great news angel. Looks as though things may work out ok for you after all.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

So long as you just use the DMP as a holding position, this seems to be a sensible solution - although as you recognise it is not one for the long-term. House prices are bound to rise again, and with that you ought to be able to get rid of that negative equity and either move into cheaper accomodation or in time sell the property and use the proceeds to pay off your creditors.
At the very least it will give you some thinking time whilst you consider all options available. I was also advised to go on a dmp as I knew that my circumstances would change and it worked out really well for me. I was on the dmp for about 6 months but it bought me the time to get back together with my wife and also to gently hint at the financial mess I was in a bit at a time and now she is fully on board with the IVA.

10 days ago we were panicking because we thought we had to hand over our house keys for a voluntary repossession. Today, we know we can stay as long as we need to.
You cannot believe how relieved we are - well, yes you probably can! I have just been walking round Asda with the biggest grin on my face. I haven't felt like this for months or even years. I just feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
At least we know we can sit here until we decide to move, until the time is right for us.
We are so relieved we decided to splash out - on a bag of liqourice - 67p. Don't worry we won't get carried away.
I'm so happy, oh so happy! Sorry! just wanted to share my good news with you all. I'm not gloating and I hope everyone finds a solution to their problems.
I must stress again what a good service David and his team have provided. They have found us a better solution in less than 24 hours than DFD did in 6 weeks. Since submitting my applciation last night, David has emailed me personally several times, spoken to his team and also texted me and telephoned me from the states at a time that was convenient to me - now you can't beat that for personal service.
David Mond and ClearDebt I love you - and I don't say that to many people.

After the trauma of the last few days, I still can't beleive that everything is going to be ok. Until I get it confirmed in writing, I feel like it's not quite true and something will go wrong. I'm sure it won't with Cleardebt in control, but they just made everything so easy compared to everyone else I have dealt with, that it feels like it's too good to be true.
I do know that I feel much better now. This morning I felt that I had got my sense of humour back. It rarely leaves me and I hadn't realised that it's been missing for a while. I was even dancing to the ringtone on my mobile. I hadn't even noticed before what a catchy tune it is.
When I was getting ready this morning I had a few ideas for general posts that might help people who don't know where to start and pitfalls to watch out for. Unfortunately, my alzheimer's is kicking in and at the moment I can't remember what they are. I'm sure they will come back to me and when they do, I will spend a bit of time drafting them so hopefully some of our expereinces will prove useful to other people.
