Iknow I keep posting that I am dithering about taking the final step but I have a query that is stopping me sorting things out now. I have said before I have been off work sick but am back now. I have a very stressful job and have discussed with my doctor that reducing my hours would be adviseable this won't affect my salary too much but I can't sort this out to come into effect until the 1st of June so I keep thinking that I will need to wait until then to make "that phonecall" as I won't have the true state of our income until then.

Absolutely not Elizabeth - this does not stop you making the phone call to seek advice at all, you merely need to advise the insolvency practitioner you choose to represent you that your salary is likely to reduce in June.

thanks for that Melanie it makes things a bit clearer and makes me feel a bit better. I had written to all me credit cards and asked for a breather due to not being well and the stress making me worse. I offered 10% of the minimum payment to everybody to be fair until June. Marks and Spencer have agreed no question, Barclays keep hassling me, all the others have asked for income and expenditure so if I can sort things now formally it would be a good idea and would be less stressful I think. I am finding it hard to keep going at work now with all that is going on.

Make the call Elizabeth - I can guarantee that you will feel better once you have a professional on your side sharing some of this with you.

Hi elizabeth

I would strongly suggest you make 'the' call as you will feel better when you know where you stand and what your options are.
I hope you can reduce the stress of your job as that, and probably your financial worries, seem to have been making your health suffer and flaring up your condition which can't be pleasent for you.
Wish you well and hope you can get things sorted soon

Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

Hi Elizabeth, As all the others have said, you need to make that call. I can guarantee you, that you will feel so much better. I know, I've been through it myself ! All the worrying will be making your health worse, you need to deal with the problem direct, and begin to see light at the end of the tunnel, not only for your finances, but your health as well x
