Hmmmmmmmmmm now i know how i have been getting all this junk mail from other companies about my IVA, i don't think that the address of where you are residing should be made public knowledge so easily, if someone is doing a credit check on you that should be provided when requested not for all unsundry to see, grrrrrrrrrrr.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

I assume you werent aware of how much detail was entered on the register??

Its a better system up here in scotland, but thats of no help to you.

Totally agree, why do they have to put down your whole address, the flamin MP's got to black their addresses out for security reasons?!?

It's not only your address either - your date of birth is on there for all to see.

Really is a poor system and there is no real need for it.

Yeah, I was shocked just how much was on there.

Laughable in this age of data protection to have something so archaic!
50 months down 22 to go!

Isn't it great to think that so many criminals could look on there and use your details!

It is scary...insolvent celebes details are there for all to see, too.
Thankfully I have only had one letter in 11 months though, which went straight in the bin.
Completion Certificate received September 2012.

[:(]I agree, it's terrible. They could blank out parts of your address or dob.

I hope nobody tries to apply for credit in my name! Haha

They'll have a shock. [:(]

Good Morning Everyone

I have never looked at the insolvency register before and having read this thread I thought I would check it out and if I was on for my BR yet. Yes there I am. But under occupation they put 'Personal Service'.I was put down in court as a Carer. I thought Personal service was something very different! ImageWhen I speak to my OR I think I may ask her about it and see what she says.

Have a great day all!

[:D] Poppy!

I don't see why celebs should be any different - they are no better than me and if my details are on there then theirs should be as well.

Hi all, no i wasn't aware of all the details until i clicked on my name etc, i have to agree that with data protection etc could this not be argued that it is an infringement! If creditors want further details then they should have to apply for it not be given it freely for all to see! I personnally couldn't give a damn i am trying to sort myself out, fine i'm on the insolvancy register, yes i am in an IVA but to put my dob and also where i am residing is i think total madness, what if i didn't want someone to find me, say an ex boyfriend or otherwise hmmmmmmmmmm, not good but hey soon i will be off it thankfully, positive thinking me thinks. Poppy i so hope you don't get those sort of call either, hmmmmmmmm.

My MP wrote to Mandleson who is responsible for the IR; they will not budge - all personal details will continue to be published.

Well maybe it can be argued that is it also public interest that all MP's publish their expenses in full and no blacked out areas, my safety and security is as important to me as it is to them, what a blinking cheek (wanted to put an expletive there but couldn't lol) rule for one and a rule for another me thinks!

I've written to the MP about that very point - will be interesting to see what he has to say - probably will not reply to that one as all his expenditure on food was blanked out!
