I have just received a letter from a company called insolvency assistance regarding ppi refund, they are based at Seaton Burn in Newcastle upon tyne. i was just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this company as they have attached a form with the details of my iva within the letter, the form has my name, date and birth and also the name of the ip i used, i usually ignore these type of letters but this one has caught my attention for some reason as its not like the usual junk mail we all experience, any info would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I have never heard of them. I personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Bear in mind they can get all of your details from the Insolvency Register.

It looks like it is a trading name of a company called Customer Services Refund LTD, which has only been going for 3 years and is a private PLC with one director who does not appear to have been a director of any other company.

Looks like he has been doing a "phishing" exercise through the insolvency Register for customer nearby.

I had one of these yesterday, something didn't feel right about it so I've filed it in a suitable place!

Given that such a refund would be due to your IVA surely its in their interests to write to the IPs rather than the debtor. Sounds like a try-on to me.

There used to be loads of these on here a few years ago - thought they had disappeared but obviously not.

Best avoided!

Any decent IP company will sort this out for you if needs be.

Not sure if you are asking for advice Dave but if you are just write back and explain as far as you are aware and PPI you were entitled to has been dealt with and this should not delay your CC.
