That is a bit of a myth to be honest - firstly a lot of creditors do agree to interest freeze once a DMP has been set up, and if so the debt will eventually be paid off - albeit it could take a lot longer than an IVA.
The DMP I was in prior to my IVA being accepted - all of my creditors froze interest and charges.

Give me the title of the one which needs deleting. You will only be able to delete your own posts, no one elses.
Let me know and I'll do it for you.

it's this one as I have another running quite near to this one. It's my post so I might have to delete it - I've looked but I can't see anywhere that gives me the option and I don't want to waste anyone elses time by answering on this one when I can just ask on the other one. This is the first forum I have been on and I didn't realise I could keep asking questions on the same thread, so I asked another question and hence the duplicate as I got confused. Speak to you soon.
Having read through both of the threads, I don't think either need deleting as there are different answers on both which might be relevant to other posters so I'll leave them.
If you are not sure where to start a thread, put it under 'New Questions', which will show under all forums and admin will then move it to the appropriate section.

I myself, are finding other peoples threads very interesting as it is helping me understand the system somewhat and not making things seem as daunting. Just hope my threads help someone too!
My husband is away early next week with work so I'm going to get my act together and ring an IP with some figures and suss out my options before I break the news to him, so keep them crossed for me and I'll be back on to let you know how I got on.
Good idea. Make sure it is a reputable one you ring, the experts on here are all highly recommended. I would go with smaller rather than bigger if I were you.
Get everything sorted and then sit hubby down. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

chi-youlle probably find your frame of mind is better when youre on your own next week and you will be thinking clearer.
kal (jan) is right as usual-i would pick a smaller company-more personal service and you couldnt go far wrong with the companies that post on here. just take your time-i took 8 days ! to call-i was terrified and i absolutely pestered the life out of this lot and they still talk to me ! [:D]
if you need us for anything -even if you think its trivial-we are here for you x [:)]
Thank you Fergie Doggie, it's nice to know I'm among friends and have some sort of support and someone to talk to who understands. Poppy said that Lloyds didn't bother to even vote at her meeting and they were her (I think it's a her!) biggest creditor - what does that mean?
chi-you have all our support AND we are all your friends ! you post anytime hun you are always welcome.
as for the lloyds question-ill give that to a pro-not quite sure why that is. stay around someone will be there soon. we will help and support you all we can ! [:o)]
I agree with Jan and FD - I wish I'd gone with a smaller company for my IVA. While a lot of people are happy with the larger companies, I would have preferred to be able to speak directly with my IP, which I couldn't do.
Poppy means that Lloyds TSB were owed the largest amount of money out of all of her creditors, so could have made things awkward for her if they had voted no. They didn't vote but are bound by the IVA anyway.
