I tried googling my name and nothing came up from the register. I guess it's just bad luck if it does, maybe my name is on a page past 5, (I never look any further than page 5 'cos I can't be bothered to trail through all the incidental related finds!! lol)
It's nice to be back......

I'm the same Chris, got so far and gave up. That was even just doing the pages for the UK. Hubbies name is the same, can't find anything about our IVA's.

I'm keeping my IVA secret from others in the household with same surname but fear them opening one of those letters not properly addressed and they finding out about it. That's why I fear the post so much

That's fair enough then inaiva.

Must admit that the only one we have had was addressed to us both by name.

I suppose if something came through you could always try and bluff your way out of it if it didn't have your name on it. Just put it down to junk mail.

Lets hope that Andy's petition gets something done.

Don't know what I'd do if that happened. trouble is with iva council, they have everything in the detail of the letter including my full name, just not in the address part.

Then they use see through envelopes, where you can see the writing on the inside.

oh the thought of one of those letters, makes me feel sick. I only hope the petition does something but fear it wont change anything soon enough though.

If it's any consolation, the IVA council don't seem to be operating. Their page isn't there anymore, so hopefully you won't get any letters from them.

The only one we have had was from somone called Xit debt and they are fairly local to where I live, so unless you live in the Midlands I don't know if they would contact you.

Fingers crossed that you manage to get through the remainder of your IVA without anything coming.

I do hope so, though going on past numbers I some how doubt it. I've had letters from a number of firms over the past 2 years. DebtDr, integrity, iva council twice, Gains Park Mortgage company to name a few,

I'm in the Midlands area too so will probably get that xit one too at somepoint down the line

It's funny isn't it that some people seem to get load of letters, and then others don't. Admitedly I have only been in mine since April this year, but I have only had the one letter.

Must admit I haven't heard of half of those companies.

It's just a pity that they are all allowed to prey on people who have done something towards sorting their debts out. They put doubts in the minds of some people who were ok before.

They should just go away and leave us alone.

My concern is more of a personal safety issue, but if only my married name will be on the register then that's not problem. If my maiden name ends up there then I must admit I will be worried as it's the only one in the country so if this person googles me then I presume my address will come up.

Viki, lets hope they don't.

If they don't know about your financial problems, I wouldn't have thought there was any reason for them to do so.

Oh crikey,
The google thing is scarey - I hope to goodness my IVA doesn't show up. Don't we have any privacy rights?? You wouldn't put your bank statements on the web so why is our financial situation open to the world?
Worried now....

Viki, if it's a matter of personal safety I think you'd have a good case for not having all details on the register - speak to Melanie, she'll be able to advise you x
