Hi,

My wife and I received our certificates of completion last week (completed 5th April 2011).

I am just wondering when we might expect our names to come off the insolvency register?

Many thanks

It will come off as soon as your IP informs the Insolvency Service.

Just keep checking.

You are in Northern Ireland I think? In my experience it takes longer over there for the register to update - sometimes up to three months following the issuing of final paperwork to the Registrar. At least the IVA is now concluded and this will eventually update.

Thanks Melanie, I didn't realise the timescales were different here.

Should I be writing to the credit reference agencies or do the creditors update these automatically.

I tried to see my credit report, but they all seem to ask you to sign up and charge a monthly fee. Is it possible to get a one-off copy of my credit report without signing up to a monthly fee to Experian et al?

You can send off a cheque/postal order for £2 to get your credit record and check on it.

Any defaults registered after the date of IVA acceptance have to be removed and you should write to any creditors who have done that, enclose a copy of your completion letter and tell them to remove the defaults.

You are entitled to a statutory credit report for £2 they all do them online, although they clearly put the links so they are not as visible as the monthly subscription.

I managed to get my report for Equifax and Experian, although call credit would not accept my online order. I sent off a manual request by recorded delivery yesterday, and look forward to recieving a tree in the next 7 working days from them.
