Can anyone confirm how long it takes to be removed from the Insolvency Register following the Completion Certificate being issued.
The Register itself says "Individual Voluntary Arrangements will remain visible while they are Current, and for a period of 3 months after the receipt of notice of the revocation order, full implementation or termination of the agreement", but I've seen people post on the forum that they have been removed from the Register within a few days of the Completion Certificate being issued.
Is the 3 months mentioned just an estimate rather than a statutory period?
I don't think anyone can say for definite when it disappears.
As long as it does go then I don't really care how long it takes.

It will disappear - might take a bit of time but it will happen.

For sure, I was just surprised to see people say it happened in under 3 months as I had assumed that the 3 months was a set statutory time frame - if it's not then that's a bonus which will partly compensate for GT taking so long to close my case !!
With me, as long as it drops off, I don't care how long it takes.

The Insolvency Register is different fron the credit files, secure69. You come off the IR relatively quickly after finishing your IVA -- the records drop off your credit file 6 years after the start of the IVA.
And ... can we stop talking about waiting for things to drop off ??? At my age that is more of a possibility than I care to think about :0)
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Mrs Torch said something very similar to me just the other evening when she was annoyed with me about something. Don't think it was the insolvency register though?.

IVA accepted May 2007.
Extended by 12 months in lieu of equity March 2012.
F+F offer accepted May 2012.
C of C received August 2012.
IVA dropped off credit file 24th May 2013.
I clicked on report error on my record and said it had finished, I doubt it was the cause of it's removal in a day or so but a few days later it was removed.
Your IP would have sent confirmation to the Insolvency Service to have the record removed when they issued the certificate and final report.
If the IVA has been going for less than 6 years however your credit file will be impacted which will have an effect on any new mortgage application anyway.

My IVA ran for 6 years so my default accounts are already clear on my credit reports. I'm still waiting for GT to issue the completion certificate and was just trying to ascertain how long after that I'd need to wait until I was removed from the Register - I had feared another 3 months but it's sounding like that may not be the case.
As soon as you get your completion letter then GT will inform the Insolvency Service and your name should come off shortly afterwards. You will just have to keep checking once you get that letter.

Still worth checking your credit report, the IVA record at the Credit Reference Agencies is not automatically removed after 6 years. It remains until such time it is marked as completed by the Insolvency Service and thus removed from the register.

For some reason it only appears on Experian and not Equifax, which is good as my experience is that Experian are very quick at removing entries whereas Equifax are not.
