Finally took the plunge tonight and looked on the insolvency register. I knew I would be on there but brings it home when you see your name in print. Also bit of shock to see they print your address, maybe I'm bit naive but wasn't prepared for that!

It took me a good 6 months to appear and didn't really hit home until then. It is extra special when you drop off again !

Only 6 years to go until I get that feeling! Had been feeling so positive since my creditors meeting, that was bit of a reality check.

Not that many people know to look there, at least.

Hopefully no one I work with. Still small price to pay for the peace of mind it has given me!

I know exactly how you feel about the register. I also think that's when it hit me that I was insolvent. For a while when I was out I thought people were staring at me because they had seen my name on the register. Silly I know but I didn't know the register existed till I was in the iva. Now I'm waiting to come off. It's supposed to be 3 months after completion so that takes me to 20th June, but my husband's name has been removed already.

I know such a reality check isn't it! Like a name and shame with address and dob on there. Knew I would be on there and dare not look for past few weeks

Hardly anyone knows about it so no worries.

I have just finished my IVA and didn't know about the insolvency register till this post so I wouldn't worry about people looking at it I'm not sure people even know it's there
