hi everyone,
i wondered if anyone has come across this situation before.

i was completely straight with my partner regarding my IVA. ive put off telling him for 18months and he was completely fine and understanding.

in fact he has brought me a car, as he knew i was sruggling to get back and forth to work (as i am based in the middle of nowhere). i have spoken to my IP and he advised that i am allowed to buy a car. the only things is i have to insure and tax this myself. i have just received a bonus of £300 at work. my first insurance payment is £124 and my tax is £115. I spoke to my IP but i didnt understand what he was saying when he told me the IVA allows for tax and insurance??? i dont have any spare monies at the end of each month, so i am confused how i am going to be able to pay for this. can somehting please advise? do you think as long as i prove im paying for these items i can keep my bonus? Many thanks

Hi rl

Review your IVA document, and I am sure that you will find an allownace for car tax and insurance within the income and expenditure section. Did you have a car at the time the IVA was taken out? If so all expenditure relating to the running of your car ought to have been provided for.
