That's how I look at it Cath - I've got a roof over my head which is the main thing!

I've just had a look on Rightmove to see how much it is to rent a similar property (1 bed maisonette) in this area - we pay £600 for an interest only mortgage and rental prices vary from £695 to £795.

Ouch! You can rent a four bed detached for that where I live!

Our IP suggested we swap from a repayment to an interest-only mortgage to increase the IVA payment substantially. My plan is to switch back to a repayment mortgage once the IVA is over, increasing the mortgage payment to include most of the IVA payment to catch up, now that we spend wisely!
