I know what i will be doing if I am ever targeted by this kind of mailing - straight in the bin.

Under IVAC's philosophy they would probably consider my iva was mis sold to me.
Their whole philosophy seems to be if you have no assets to protect you should be going bankrupt rather than entering into an iva....how patronising!!
Whatever happened to personal choice, I was well informed of my options aby my IP and researched each one thoroughly before making my decission.

I maybe in debt but I still have a brain and made the choice I knew was best for me at this time in my life.

I am not saying mis selling of iva's has never happened to anyone, but they blow it out of all proportion and if I had recieved a letter like that and was not so well informed by this forum, I might start to worry[:(]
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

Emma x

Thanks all for your helpful advice!

I did believe at the time that I had made the right decision - my IP DID give me all the facts & I made the choice to take an IVA as I felt it was the right thing to do, I had borrowed this money in good faith & felt strongly that I needed to make an attempt to repay as much as I could. UK Bankruptcy Ltd did indeed say that that the legal team would make sure my figures showed no disposable income!

I have been happy with my IP for 12 months and they were excellent guiding me through taking out my IVA, they even arranged for a solicitor to visit me to go through the paperwork - therefore I will be sticking with my IVA! I think I was just thrown by this phone call and unsure who to ask for advice, so thank you all very much.

Mish - my tax credit & child benefit were taken into account on my IVA, without this I would have no disposable income! I can't afford to lose my car, UK Bankruptcy Ltd advised me to transfer the details to my parents for a week or 2 while the bankruptcy was going through - surely this isn't legal!!

I am still very concerned where they got your telephone number from.

This firm are just absolutely appalling, and the Office of Fair Trading really ought to investigate it and the professionals associated with it.

This is terrible - surely if they are telling people to transfer their vehicle details 'while the BR is going through' this is going to cause a lot of problems for people when the OR finds out?

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Hi
"UK Bankruptcy Ltd did indeed say that that the legal team would make sure my figures showed no disposable income"
That is simply appalling
How can either company hope to be taken seriously ?

They are not being taken seriously within the insolvency profession, but sadly there are probably a lot of innocent people who are believing what they are saying. How a qualified IP could put his name to this organisation simply mystifies me.
