Hi All,
Can I just ask if it is normal “NOT” to have to visit your IP in person? I have been in my IVA for nearly two years now and have never met them in person, this is mainly due to living 300 miles away from where they are based and also because I have trusted them fully and so far everything has been going well.
I am in the process of offering a full and final settlement to end my IVA early and was wandering if I will have to make the long trip to meetings etc. Or if I can just leave the whole process in the hands of my IP.
Thanks for any advice given.

Hi micki

As a practising IP, I always encourage my clients to meet with me personally, as I just find that this is a better way for me to pass on knowledge and advice. It also helps to establish that important working relationship which will last for the duration of the IVA.

That said, since 1 April 2007, IPs have no longer been obliged to hold face to face meetings with clients (other than those who are self-employed) so if there is no need for a face to face meeting, and you are happy with the work your IP has done so far, then there should be no problem.

You can rest assured that you can leave it all to your IP and very, very few people actually attend a creditors meeting.
Good luck
