i was just blogging and wrote stuff there...

and wondered if ...using this forum is more a "womans thing"...my OH isnt really interested in the forum as such...he likes the info and the tit bits i share from it...but apart from a wee look in the beginning a couple of months ago he hasnt really shown any interest...
i know guys do post...but is it the women who make it a "community" as such....
he has said he will come to FF.....and isnt averse to mixing but it seems as if he is kinda passively working his way through the IVA...not that that is a bad thing or a negative thing..i can worry enough for both of us..LOL
wonder if other "pairs" thought the same

Hey TOL,

Hubby isn't interested in posting on the forum but he knows all about every single one of you and I tell him things that have happened just as I would if they had happened to my friends or family. You're all both to me.

Hubby lets me deal with all the IVA stuff and he's very laid back, I'm happy with that. He's got his own forum although it's not as interesting as this one....of course![;)] X

Hi TOL,[:)]

Same for me, Hubby not interested in posting on this Forum, spends most of the time on the Footie Forum or being in charge of the Remote Control [:D]. Still, at least there's no arguments then as to who goes on Forum First[:)]
IVA accepted 13/11/2008..17 payments down,55 to go..

Mine isn't interested in the computer full stop!

I also share things with him on here, and he does like to hear about them and the people I chat to on here.

Same with the FF as well. He will come, but obviously won't know anyone (well I know I've never met anyone, but I feel as though I know everybody- if you get what I mean!)

My hubby is the same. He is a really sociable person, but is not interested in posting. I always tell him about everyone, and read him Ray's jokettes and he's happy with that. Like you say, the remote control is more his friend than the computer (only cos he's a technophobe!) Kazzy x

Mine is intersted and asks every day how is iva (ivor) his nickname. Same thing as a lot say, he is interested and does know what goes on through me and actually is a member but has not yet posted. It would take him an hour to write a post one finger typer and huge gaps between letters as he cant find them. Steve loved the debt dbate and Bradford and that is saying something for the meetings as he is a home bird and has to be dragged out screaming usually and he is looking forward to the next one.

I'm a man and feel left out of this thread!!!

Only kidding(not about being a man).

I think whoever deals with the household finances is most likely to use the forum,I have always done anything financial in the house(hense the 78k debts).so the wife isnt that fussed to use the forum.

Is it the case with all you young ladies, that prior to debt troubles you held the purse strings in your relationships??

Ahh plastic never feel left out you join in. I agree with what you say actually. I have always dealt with the finances, you are quite correct, and still do. Though he always knew what was going on and every loan etc was with his aggreement and sometimes his idea. I did all the juggling to keep us going. Sweetheart he is, one thing he said when we realised we were in trouble , was not, "its your fault", it was he was proud that I had managed to keep all the minimum payments up.

i think that plasticdaft has hit the nail on the head....it could well be that the one who deals with the finances is likely to use the forum more...def. that way in our home...

it is great to hear from the male side of things...but having "names" its difficult to know who is male and who is female on the threads..LOL

There has been quite a few men on here, but they dont get so involved with the everyday things to do with children or cooking etc. and the chitty chat. I would imagine its a bit more difficult for the male members to break in on those threads.

Someone did suggest that we have a blue or a pink circle by our user names so the gender was easily identified. Often I have assumed someone is female and they have been male and vice versa if the name isnt obvious.

That would be a good idea lily, i am sometimes not sure if I am talking to a girlie or a bloke. Maybe a little pink piggie by our posts or user names like on the top of the page for girls and a blue one for the boys.

Fantastic post 7up.

I would hate to think that the forum is female dominated though as we all need to relate our experiences of debt. I actually think its way harder on the men in the early stages not knowing where to turn with the weight of societys 'provider for the family' on their shoulders, even though we have moved on from those days.

How can we moved towards a more gender balanced forum??
