I'm glad you don't feel out of place Fuzzy Dunlop! I love this forum because everyone is so friendly - I've felt welcome from day 1.

I think girls can open up more and yes, a lot of the chit chat is girly type stuff. My OH knows about this forum and I tell him about what is happening to members, as I do on the parenting forums of which I am a member. I have recently got him hooked on FaceBook and he does a lot of social chat on there with his friends.

Just picking up on this post - I agree whoever does the finances may use this forum more. My hubby knows all about my FF, he thinks I'm obsessed with debt advice now [:D].. he's just starting to get the hang of facebook but I don't think he'd ever type quick enough to post on here [:D]

Bloke here. I think the forum is mainly the place for the people who have traditionally taken care (I use that term with a wry smile) of the household finances regardless of gender. I "do" the money but have always discussed the ins and outs of it with my wife. Since embarking on the IVA route I have found this place to be a tremendously supportive community and would have drowned without the advise and blogs of others. The biggest bonus was finding Melanie and her team from here. Talk about feeling like you are in good hands ? They are a life saver.

My wife however, has no interest in the site or forums in general. I however think internet forums are a great place to meet, share and support one another.
